Extracting audio without uploading the video

A video file is a container: a wrapper that holds a video track and an audio track. The extension tells you which wrapper it is, not what is inside. This converter opens the container, finds the first audio track and encodes it as MP3.
Files protected by DRM, such as films bought or rented from a store, cannot be read. That is intentional: the protection is there to stop copying.
